Ruby Seidner

A poem that says what I feel
A poem that says what is real
The liminal spaces in between
Mind
And
Body
The space between my heart and my soul
I feel as if my life would swallow me whole
But then I slip off to the dreamscape
My body and mind become one
And I am lost
in a crystallized haze
Memories encircle my body to created dreams that make me feel as if I can do anything But then I participate in the slow return to earth, and I am reminded that I am nothing more than a mere mortal
With no understanding of what it means to be anything more
Every night the haze calls
It begins to erase everything I hold dear but still I bring it near
Because in the dreamscape I call the shots
In the dreamscape I chose what is forgot
